Our Kayaks

We have some of the most advanced open water kayaks in the world today. They are NOT white water kayaks. They are open water fishing kayaks. They are 14 feet long, rated number 1 in stability and number 2 in speed. They have molded seats with cushions so you sit on top of the kayak. You do NOT sit in the kayak. So if some how you are able to tip over, you will fall off the kayak, and you will be floating there with your life jacket on. So far no one has fallen off the kayak yet.........damn it. But if you do fall off, you just up-right your kayak and climb back aboard. It's easy, no problem. Meanwhile, everyone will be laughing at you unless you catch something that drags you off of your kayak, oh what a fish story that'll be.

Our Kayaks have a cooler holder, tackle box holder, rod holder, drink holder, and adjustable open foot pegs. But at Kayak Sunsets we have modified our kayaks. They are now equipped with 12v full navigation lights for night cruising and fishing. That's right, night kayaking and fishing! It's off the hook!

We will take you out at night, and we will put you on top of the lilly patties, drop the submersible lights, and light up the lilly pads with under-water lights. While you are taking in the wonder of it all BAMB! your fishing pole begins to jerk, and your adrenaline begins to spike. Then you realize you are experiencing a perfect moment in life. Ah, but wait, there's more! When you get back to camp, and you give your catch to our Chef, and you take that first bite, that'll be another perfect moment in life. These trips can have a lot of perfect moments in life. There is so much to these trips, I can't print it all.

WARNING...Apparently these trips are extremely addictive, because everyone who has gone on one of these has booked again.

Our Kayak Trips

Our trips are for four persons, or two couples. They go from Friday 5pm until Sunday 5pm, that's two nights and two days. Starting as low as $300.00 per person for a full weekend trip at Somerville Lake. Custom trips are available. Call us and we'll discuss it - 713-906-4617, but you must book at least two weeks advance on all trips.

We provide the following. Guide, On-site Chef, fully equipped kayaks with fishing gear and bait. Campsite, firewood, tent with air mattress, chairs, non-alcoholic drinks, ice, all the food, and there are bathrooms and hot showers on-site. And if the weather gets a little wet, we have ponchos, umbrellas, and winter-time weightiers that will keep you dry in or out of the kayak.

Menu

Menu is subject to change at any time. Present menu: any fish we catch, we will fry with meals or can fry anytime. You Catch it, we'll cook it.

Friday Menu:

Dinner - surf and turf, barbeque ribs and shrimp with our special potato salad, corn on the cob, custom baked beans, and grilled texas toast.

Saturday Menu:

Breakfast - breakfast burritos, made all the way, coffee, and maybe fresh fried fish.

Lunch - Grilled hot-dogs with all the trimmings.

Dinner - Surf and Turf, alaskan king crab legs with butter sauce, steak with mushrooms, artichoke with special sauce, salad, and baked potato with garlic bread.

Sunday:

Breakfast - breakfast burritos, made all the way, coffee, and maybe fresh fried fish.

Lunch - Grilled home-made hamburgers

Drinks and snacks are available anytime.

Things you will need to bring

Store money, bedroll, cloths, toiletries, any medicines, fishing license, flash-light, water shoes, towels, bathing suite, sun-lotion sun-glasses, and a hat.

You may also bring whatever alcohol with a cooler that you want. NO GLASS. Cans or plastic only.

We will provide the ice.
